I have taken “charge”, I have been in “charge”, I have
called “charge”, and I have asked if I could “charge”.  These different phrases hold differing
meanings.
I have taken “charge”.
I was the Center Manager for a UPS center.  I was responsible for 138 people.  I was responsible for the equitable transfer
of work to each individual based on their job training and wage scale.  I was responsible when I took charge.
I have called “charge”.
During certain war games, while urging your co-partners forward, calling
charge bolsters the resolve to attain goals and best the other teams.
Asking if I could charge is an attempt to delay the
responsibility of my actions.  Payment
later….”I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today” as Wimpy might
say.
Charge holds different meanings based upon the verbiages
surrounding it.   Of the three types of
charge, I most definitely prefer taking charge.

Love the post--I also like being in Charge...and I like charging--at people. Okay, Okay--no--that last one was a joke :) You know I didn't see this link before tonight. I'm glad I found it :) Cheers, Jenn
ReplyDeleteAs I watch the Cardinal beat the Nationals, I'm reminded of the old battle cry I heard as a child in Busch Stadium.
